The Mount Royal Society was established to recognize alumni and friends who generously make a bequest or a planned gift of any amount for the benefit of MICA.

The society honors the generosity of individuals who have included the College in their estate plans. Making a planned gift is a powerful way to leave a lasting legacy for MICA while accommodating your personal, financial, and philanthropic goals. 

 

HOW TO JOIN

THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF COMMITMENTS QUALIFY YOU FOR MEMBERSHIP:

  • An estate commitment in your will or revocable trust

  • A life-income gift that names MICA as a remainder beneficiary, such as a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity

  • A charitable lead trust that provides income to MICA for a donor's lifetime or a term of years

  • A gift or assignment of qualified retirement plan assets, such as an IRA, 401(k) or 403(b)

  • A gift of life insurance

  • Certain other planned gifts

 

If you have already included MICA in a bequest or other planned gift, we hope you will let us know. Sharing the news of your estate commitment or other planned gift allows us to extend our gratitude and to discuss with you the impact you would like your gift to have. We acknowledge and respect those who wish to remain anonymous, but we urge you to let us know of your plans on a confidential basis as it supports MICA's planning for the future.
